South Coast Stone, Poole

IAQ are delighted to have carried out the indoor air quality monitoring COSHH assessment for a natural and engineered stone and ceramic tiling manufacturing facility in Poole.

COSHH IAQ Assessment

Our team were commissioned to undertake the indoor air quality monitoring COSHH (Caution Of Substances Hazardous to Health) assessment for a stone fabrication facility.

Project Outline

Our team visited the site and performed dust monitoring to assess the levels us dust generated from the stone working plants. Levels of dust were assessed against the HSE’s workplace exposure limits (WELs).

Our Role

The assessment involved indoor air quality monitoring of dust using MCERTS certified instruments. The facility included a range of manufacturing processes that created dust as well as equipment with water based mitigation measures incorporated to reduce dust generation.

The monitoring was analysed and linked to employee exposure durations to determine the exposures to dust. Based on the findings, further measures to control and abate dust, particularly silica, were recommended.
